Can anybody tell me if I can load samples into pattern or song mode? E.g. I have some guitar loops/phrases in the tempo of 148 bpm and would like to import them from USB to a channel then use other channels for piano, bass, drums etc. Am I able to do this in pattern or song mode? Still a novice!

Yes, you certainly can. There are several different approaches.
