Hi, thanks for the response Bad Mister.

Well, all I can tell you is that before I updated to 1.30, my YC transmitted cc data from most of it's sliders/knobs etc... (e.g the 16' drawbar was cc 102.etc.) and was quite a good midi controller keyboard (apart from it's inability to switch quickly between transmit channels).
I updated the firmware to 1.30 as per the instructions. I verified the update, and sure enough it is now possible (albeit in an impracticably awkward manner) to select the transmit channel. However, my YC has now stopped transmitting midi CC information from it's sliders and knobs. Not one of them sends anything anywhere. My YC is now more useless as a midi controller than it was before. At this point I am hoping there might be a way to roll back to the previous firmware version. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi Jonathan,
After the firmware update, your unit was probably reset to factory defaults, is probably all that has happened. You realize that once you make a setting, ie. MIDI Channel, Speaker Output, MIDI Control, etc., by powering on the unit while holding the specified Key, that your settings will persist. That is, they remain that way until you either RESET the unit to factory defaults or change the setting.

Page 41 of the refaceCS/DX/CP/YC Owner's Manual - you can see the various preferences.

Try making your preference settings once more.
Here's how:

Take the time and select which ones you want.
For example, you definitely want (as you preference) MIDI CONTROL - so you would power On while holding the lowest E Key...
The Rotary Speed lamp will light up (indicating that your preference is to SEND MIDI CONTROL CHANGE messages from the front panel.

You must have done this once because the default is to NOT send these commands.

That should do it. When you have an issue, never panic, check your Owner's Manual or post here on Yamaha Synth. Hope that helps, let us know.

Dear Mr Bad,

Thank you very much for your kind response. That did the trick. Hurray. Now, if only there were a way to change the transmit channel without turning the YC on and off, then all my Reface dreams would have come true! Thanks again.
