Would it be possible, via a change in the firmware, to have the Reface CS keyboard velocity routed to the AEG/FEG slider? Seems a small change like that would have a huge positive impact on an already awesome synth. Do the firmware authors take suggestions? Anyone know how to get a hold of them?
The reface units all can transmit Velocity from the keyboard (as a controller) but afaik, only the CP (electric piano) and DX (FM synth) use velocity in the responding internal tone engine. The organ (YC) and analog synth (CS) are, like the instruments they re-imagine, are not velocity sensitive.
Just wanted to chime in that rob is not at all alone in wanting to have some (any!) internal velocity response on the CS! I actually found this thread in the first place since it has become a habit for me to occasionally search for any news of a firmware update giving this feature :o} We already have the "advanced settings mode" (accessed by holding down the A3, C#4, and E4 keys on startup), which I assume would be the place to toggle/set velocity response if it was added in a future update!
In any case, I too would really like to have a way to let the firmware authors know that this is a hugely desired feature. Brows most any thread or comments section and you will invariably find the more or less unanimous opinion that this is the single feature most holding back this synth (including many people for whom the lack of velocity-sensitivity is a 'dealbreaker' preventing them from buying an otherwise perfect instrument).
My personal case is similar: the CS is my primary musical instrument, it is exactly the synth I want to be using, except of course for the lack of velocity. I want to settle into this as /the/ instrument I will use, potentially indefinitely. I want it to feel like an extension of myself, but the lack of velocity-based expressiveness keeps hanging over me, making me keep an eye out for something to replace it -- something that is exactly the same, but with one tiiiny little tweak.
Just to reiterate, if there is any way to get feedback to whomever would be able to implement something like this, please let us know! I would love to try and get an online petition or something together to help show the demand if there was someone to show it to!

Online petitions are a waste of your time and energy (usually it’s just a misery loves company type thing) We have setup a customer location where you can plead your case. And this is reviewed by those who can actually make a difference.
I would miss velocity sensitivity too, except that I control volume on my Reface CS with a breath controller - an old BC1 or a newer TEControl analog breath controller through an old Anatek Wind machine interface. It's way fun and expressive. And you can circular breath easily, so gaps in your sounds aren't a problem, Then run the whole setup through an Eventide modfactor unit with its "mod source" and "shape" knobs set to "envelope." Now your breath can control all sorts of parameters on the Eventide to make the CS even more super awesome.
