What a fool I am! I'm changing my synth area around and have moved my MODX and MOXF off the stand they were on ready for the new stand arriving.

I forgot to note which plug was for which synth so was wondering if someone can help me identify the MODX plug please...

Edit - I've tried a couple of times to copy the jpg file. It uploads it OK but then when I post it says unable to copy.

It's pretty ridiculous. that the image inlining hasn't been fixed since the website reboot.

Do you mean the power cable, or some other?

If you zip the photo up, that should upload, then anyone that wants to see it can download the zip file and unzip it to see it.

This site... can't upload audio files, can't upload video demos of doing stuff... it's a backwater off a creek, behind a shed that's out of town.

Hi. Yes I meant the power plug.

Here's another attempt - this time it's a zip containing a photo of the 2 wall plugs.

Attached files

Plugs.zip (103.2 KB)

Looks like it didn't like that either.

One of the wall plugs has WR52710 printed near the bottom.

Both keyboards use the PA-150 (A, B) supply. These are interchangeable. The WR52710 is an aftermarket replacement for the PA-150. If you have a Yamaha branded power adapter, I'd use it for the MODX and go with aftermarket on the MOXF.

This is where lack of change/update/"innovation" is actually beneficial.

Thanks for that. Both the wall plugs are the ones that came with the synths brand new and both have Yamaha printed at the top.

The one with WR52710 is more square than the other and has Model PA-150A printed on it.

The other one is more oblong in shape and has PA-150B printed on it.

These are both UK wall plugs

Use that one for the Modx. Use the Model A for the other instrument.

The Model B is a newer version and supercedes the Model A.

The PA-150, PA-150A, and PA-150B all output 12V @ 1.5A which is suitable for each of your keyboards. The PA-150 has different versions since it has a fixed input line voltage (120V or 240V or ... depending on the supported region) while the PA-150B has a wide range of input voltages accepted and the wall adapter plug piece is interchangeable. I'm not sure where the A stands on this - but they're all interchangeable if you know you have the right input voltage (it's printed on the label). And since these were both working before - I know you have the right input (wall, AC) voltage support.

Still, I would also use the B on the MODX since it's a newer supply. Not for any compatibility reasons - but just for age.
