Is this a joke?
If not, I wonder who is the colostomy bag with ears that came up with this idea.

I think there is very little chance of this petition achieving anything significant.... The reasons for the change of emphasis on what Yamaha intend to do with their new high end synth concepts - going forward - has been well documented since the introduction of the Montage.
For people like me, it's a deal breaker that the Montage doesn't include a pattern sequencer -- but I don't think Yamaha will lose any sleep over the loss of one sale....or even several. The world moves on, and Yamaha have made the decision to make comprehensive sequencer control an external function. They're not going to change direction for a few upset 'ex Motif' users hankering after a bygone era 🙂

That's funny coming from a colostomy bag with ears.
That you would use change.org for this speaks volumes.

Yamaha has been asking for customer opinions for a long time (certainly back as far as 2002 after the original Motif was first introduced), the result of the surveys, distributor sales, and overall market trends play a significant role in their product development.
There are people that walk away from Roland, Korg, Kurzweil, Nord, etc. for the same reasons. The offerings don't fit that particular buyer's needs.
That's the beauty of variety and competition.

The fact that Smorenburg in preparation for his Sonicstate demo had to bypass the recognized problem (no consecutive recording of tracks possible) says it all. His smart but cumbersome workaround is a disgrace to Yamaha. They need to update the damned recorder immediately IMO. From what I read at Motifator they lost every loyal Motif user in a nanosecond, including myself. Having said that, they can win me back with a recorder update.

You seem to be completely uninformed. EVERYONE does it nowadays...

So why is the JD-Xi selling like hotcakes then? *Facepalm*
That's the problem with change.org. It's turned into the Land of the Terminally Offended. Everyone and his brother creates a petition for everything that they find wrong with the world. That site has become a parody of itself.
The JD-Xi may be selling like hotcakes but how many people looked into that keyboard and decided it wasn't for them?
That is the larger question.

Bert recorded that as the Montage had just come out.
There is no doubt that he'll be doing a more comprehensive review.
FYI, KeyFax has specifically said that they will not offer support for Montage. As such, I quit visiting that site except when I want to catch up on XF posts. It started to descend into Whinerville.
"From what I read at Motifator they lost every loyal Motif user in a nanosecond"
BWAHAHAHAHA!!!! Exaggerate much?

I really don't get it. It's like buying a sedan and then complaining because it's not a SUV. Don't like it, don't buy it. Pretty simple really.

BS. He´s not from Keyboard Magazine or FutureMusic. Smorenburg is on Yamaha´s payroll for decades. How on earth would he be able do do "reviews" of Yamaha products? Oh boy, you are as thick as two short planks. Get a life.
You're confusing a review of features and specs with a critical review.
Not surprised.
I know who Bert Smorenburg is and who he works for.
If ignorance was painful, you'd be on a permanent Morphine drip.
So what are you going to whine about today?
I do not want a update on the player.
I do not want Montage software developers to spend time on unnecessary things.
I have not and will never use the built-in player/Seq.
No matter how good or bad it would be.
Daw is what applies today for 90%+ of users to day.
It's not 1985, it is 2016.
Better to use resources for updates and more important things.
(Like a good VSTi editor, with multi Sampel Editor, loops settings etc
Better integration with DAW's.
Midi channel selector in perfomens etc)
Well thats IMO
